And does Analstahl mean what I think it means?
Oh, I keep forgetting that might sound a tad weird..

Is this already a semantic shift or rather a change in meaning? What is certain is that the edgy term Analstahl (Anal Steel) has undergone a rounding in certain peer groups and has become a very innocent thing. A band name for five very nice dudes. But, Analstahl was certainly meant to shock at first. After all, the name earned the band a support in their middle creative period with the musically and pornographically rather mediocre and therefore justifiably forgotten band Rockbitch.
Analstahl was founded in the early 90s by three rock-climbers to perform at their gatherings. The music that satisfied this very special sports community was similar to the punk music of the skaters of the time, very, very fast and loud. The so-called climbing festivals were legendary for their pure hedonism coupled with the contempt for life that is necessary for this sport and this mindset was absorbed by the band and cultivated to this day.
The first line-up was Rodler on drums, by now a professor in England, climbing legend Anton Lamprecht on vocals and Constantin Curtius on bass. The latter played with the style-defining Munich hardcore band Nonoyesno and sadly passed away in 2022. Pillepalle Gemüsehalle is dedicated to this free spirit and man of the heart. Stübner, who played with the Gutfeeling band Inpalumbia at the time and now leads various formations as G.Rag, was engaged as guitarist.
A self-made 10-inch with 12 tracks was the first sign of life on vinyl in 1994, followed by an LP with 26 tracks in 1998 and a split 10-inch with the Munich all-star band Munich Punks in 2000.
Analstahljakl aka Jakob Werth became the drummer and, as a gifted graphic designer, is also responsible for the artwork of the new album Pillepalle Gemüsehalle, just as Analstaltobi aka Tobias Siegert not only plays bass but also produced the recordings in his Minga Studios. At some point someone had the idea that there had to be more hip hop and Gringo came along with a turntable and effects. A very good idea that manifests itself for the first time on Pillepalle Gemüsehalle.

26 tracks, snippets, experiments including various guest appearances can be found on the album, which will be presented on 18 March 2023 at a festival in the Munich hardcore birthplace Kafé Kult. Analstahl will be joined by Schaufel-und-Besen bands Uschi and Zerb0 and The Notwist as a pocket band with a hardcore set.

Oh, ich vergesse immer wie komisch das klingt: Analstahl.

Spricht man hier schon von Semantikverschiebung oder eher von Bedeutungswandel? Sicher ist, dass der kantige Begriff Analstahl in gewissen Peergroups einen Rundschliff erfahren hat und zu einem ganz unschuldigen Ding geworden ist. Zu einem Bandnamen von mittlerweile fünf sehr nicen Dudes. Dabei sollte Analstahl anfänglich bestimmt schocken. Immerhin hat der Name der Band in ihrer mittleren Schaffensperiode einen Support bei der musikalisch wie pornografisch doch recht biederen und deswegen zu Recht vergessenen Band Rockbitch eingebracht.
Gegründet wurde Analstahl Anfang der 90er von drei Kletterern, um bei deren Zusammenkünften aufzutreten. Die Musik, die diese ganz eigene Sport-Community befriedigte, war ähnlich wie bei den Skatern seinerzeit eben Punk, sehr, sehr schnell und laut. Die sogenannten Kletterfeste waren legendär für ihren puren Hedonismus gepaart mit der Lebensverachtung, die für diesen Sport nötig ist und dieses Mindset hat die Band aufgesogen und bis heute kultiviert.
Die erste Besetzung waren der Rodler am Schlagzeug, mittlerweile Professor in England, Kletterlegende Anton Lamprecht am Gesang und Constantin Curtius am Bass. Letzterer spielte bei der stilbildenden Münchner Hardcore-Band Nonoyesno und ist 2022 leider verstorben. Diesem Freigeist & Herzensmenschen ist Pillepalle Gemüsehalle gewidmet. Als Gitarrist wurde Stübner verpflichtet, der seinerzeit bei der Gutfeeling-Band Inpalumbia spielte und mittlerweile als G.Rag verschiedene Formationen führt.
Eine selbstgebastelte 10Inch mit 12 Tracks war 1994 das erste Lebenszeichen auf Vinyl, 1998 folgte eine LP mit 26 Stücken und 2000 eine Split-10” mit der Münchner Allstar-Band Munich Punks.
Analstahljakl aka Jakob Werth wurde Schlagzeuger und zeichnet (!) als begnadeter Grafiker auch für das Artwork des neuen Albums Pillepalle Gemüsehalle verantwortlich, ebenso wie Analstaltobi aka Tobias Siegert nicht nur Bass spielt, sondern in seinen Minga Studios die Aufnahmen fertigte. Irgendwann kam einer auf die Idee, dass mehr Hip Hop sein muss und Gringo kam mit Turntable und Effekten vorbei. Eine sehr gute Idee, die sich auf Pillepalle Gemüsehalle erstmals manifestiert.
