Fond of parks – so far so obvious. Expect a personal and authentic soundtrack to the following scenery: Strolling at a moderate pace through the fragile idyll inmidst a vibrant city, breathing cold air, arms crossed behind your back. Old tall trees open up space, faint city noise mixes with rustle of leaves, degenerated animals attentively watch your steps. You sit on a bench, pause and notice the beauty of all this. ParkWalker’s compact emopop/slowcore sound is created by two clean interweaved guitars, insistent bass lines, laid-back drums and the warm voice of Nicola. Melodies and that stick to your head, within mostly classic song structures. You may be flashed back to the dear 90ies or be reminded of American Football or Snow-patrol. ParkWalker was founded in 2018 and is based in the metropolis of Stuttgart and Karlsruhe. They have their roots in the DIY scene and have spent lots of hours on stages with different musical projects both in Germany and abroad (e.g. Tidal Sleep). ParkWalker will publish their debut album named “Distant Phenomena” end of january 2021 – 7 songs featuring guest musician at the keys – Linda Kyei from Stuttgart. It was recorded at RAMA studios in Mannheim with Malte Appelt and Christian Bethge (e.g. Messer), who also mastered the work. It will be published digitally and on vinyl. Eine musikgewordene Parksituation: Du schlenderst langsam durch das zerbrechliche Idyll inmitten der Stadt, die Luft ist kalt und klar, die Arme hinter dem Rücken verschränkt. Hochgewachsene Bäume spannen den Raum auf, gedämpfter Stadtlärm mischt sich mit dem Rascheln der Blätter, mehr oder weniger verwirrte Tiere sehen aufmerksam in Deine Richtung. Du setzt Dich auf eine Parkbank, hältst inne und fängst an Dich zu darüber zu freuen, wie schön das alles eigentlich ist.
ParkWalker’s emopop/slowcore sound ist bestimmt durch zwei cleane Gitarren, eindringliche Basslinien, entspannte Drums und der warmen Stimme von Nicola. Melodien, die hängen bleiben, in meist klassischer Songstruktur. Die lieben 90er lassen grüßen, vielleicht fällt einem American Football oder Snow Patrol ein.
ParkWalker haben sich 2018 gefunden, sie leben in Stuttgart und Karlsruhe. Klar in der DIY-Szene verwurzelt haben sie viele Stunden auf Bühnen im In-und Ausland mit verschiedenen Formationen verbracht, u.a. Tidal Sleep.
